I'm having trouble installing ArmchairTour.

NOTE: IF YOU HAVE THE CHARLESTON ARMCHAIRTOUR WITH THE BLUE CD COVER (VERSION 1.0) AND ARE EXPERIENCING TROUBLE, PLEASE CONTACT SUPPORT@ARMCHAIRTOUR.COM TO EXCHANGE YOUR PRODUCT FOR AN UPDATED VERSION.

While the ArmchairTour program runs entirely from the CD and does not install anything on your computer, it does require that certain components of the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser be installed.

Here are instructions to help you overcome your install difficulties. You may want to print this page.

What to Do

1. Make sure that your system meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements. If it does not meet ALL of these requirements, then you may not be able to install or run ArmchairTour.
   

2. Try running the Microsoft Internet Explorer setup program directly from the CD. Tell me how.
   

3. If you continue to experience problems, make sure you restart your system before you continue. 
   

4. Many times you can solve a problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling Microsoft Internet Explorer. 

To install Internet Explorer 5.5

Note: If you already have Internet Explorer installed on your system, this procedure will update your version to 5.5 and install any necessary components to run ArmchairTour. If you already have Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, this procedure will only update the components required to run ArmchairTour, and will not affect your newer components.

1. Insert the ArmchairTour CD into your CD drive. 
   

2. After a few seconds (up to 30 on slower systems), the ArmchairTour selection screen should appear. Click the Install IE5.5 button to start the install.
   If the selection screen does not appear, do the following:

   - On your Windows Desktop, double-click My Computer icon

   - In My Computer, double-click the icon that represents your CD drive.

   - Double click cdsetup.exe (one some older versions of the Charleston Armchairtour, you may need to open the iesetup folder and then double-click the file named ie5setup (it may be called ie5setup.exe).
   

3. Follow the instructions to install Internet Explorer. 
   
   

4. Once Internet Explorer has been successfully installed, be sure you restart your computer (if it wasn't automatically restarted by the installer).
   

If Microsoft Internet Explorer will not install, refer to Microsoft's product support web site for help.

 To install ArmchairTour from the CD:

1. Insert the ArmchairTour CD into your CD drive. 
   
   

2. After a few seconds (up to 30 on slower systems), the ArmchairTour selection screen should appear. Click the Install button to start the install.
   If the selection screen does not appear, do the following:

   - On your Windows Desktop, double-click My Computer icon

   - In My Computer, double-click the icon that represents your CD drive.

   - Double-click the file named cdsetup (it may be called cdsetup.exe).
   
   

3. Follow the instructions to install ArmchairTour. 
   
   

4. Once ArmchairTour has been successfully installed, be sure you restart your computer (if it wasn't automatically restarted by the installer).
   
   

5. After the restart, you may need to re-insert the CD to start the tour.
