I
hear sound during the introduction, but not while using the
ArmchairTour.
We have found that if you have certain Windows sound schemes loaded, the sound in the ArmchairTour product may not work correctly.
Here's a workaround that will allow you to hear the ArmchairTour sounds:
1. On your Windows desktop, double-click the "My Computer" icon.
2. In the My Computer window, double-click the folder called "Control Panel".
3. In the Control Panel window, double-click the "Sounds" icon.
4. A dialog box appears called "Sounds Properties".
5. In the "Events" list, scroll down until you see an item called "Complete Navigation" (note that the list may not be in alphabetical order).
6. Select the "Complete Navigation" item from the list (to select it simply click it with your mouse).
7. In the "Name" box (just below the "Events" list), select "(None)".
8. Click the OK button.
Note that not all ArmchairTour sites have sounds or narration, so you will not hear sounds on every topic you visit in the ArmchairTour.
This procedure will disable the default sound that Windows plays when the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser is finished loading a web page. (It will not affect the way your web browser works - only the sound that plays when a page is finished loading). If you ever want to restore your original settings, repeat the above steps, and in step 7, select the original sound in the "Name" list.
